About Pasadena Soaps
Following a lengthy writing career
in Los Angeles, Carol Lightwood decided to enter the artisan
soap business. After considerable experimentation and development, Pasadena Soaps was launched. Her goal was to
create sophisticated soaps that are as beautiful to the eye and
fragrant to the nose, as they are gentle on the skin. Using the
best natural
ingredients was and is the key to it all.
One of the first soaps she developed was
in memory of her grandmother, Dulcie Wynona, who loved rose
fragrance. As a little girl Carol helped Grandma Dulcie
collect rose petals in her garden. After the petals were
gathered some were dried to preserve color and fragrance and,
then, made into potpourri and sachets. Other petals were
distilled into rosewater. The fragrance of those rose
petals filled Dulcie's home in the Columbia River Gorge year
'round. Today Rose Petals soap continues to be very
popular in the Pasadena Soaps Collection.
